LEADERSHIP

ASSISTANT DEAN
2017-present

As the assistant dean of co-curricular programs, I am charged with building, integrating, and assessing engagement opportunities within the University of Houston's Honors College. This enables me to support hundreds of students, faculty, and administrators annually, which is extremely rewarding. I enjoy working with students in securing research opportunities, applying for scholarships, and developing ePortfolios. My position also includes developing grant proposals, overseeing college wide initiatives, and developing strategic plans for program development. For instance, I am currently working with the associate dean of the Honors College in building the Mellon Research Scholars Program sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

PROGRAM DIRECTOR
2009-2017

PROGRAM MANAGER

2005-2009
I administered research and scholarship programs for over a decade at UH, which entailed setting goals and objectives, managing the Office’s team, recruiting students for programs, coordinating application and committee processes, overseeing and marketing events, organizing lecture series, and creating mechanisms for office assessment. I served as the central point of contact for students, faculty, and staff seeking research opportunities for undergraduates. During my tenure, the three central research programs housed within the Office increased in size by 50%, and the number of applications grew by 70%.
